„This music with the line up of alto clarinet, violin and voice, which is exceptional for improvised music, is a

musical adaptation of "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang, the third part of the triology "Honored Ancestors" dedicated to the

works of past German artists. The first part was the CD "Melencolia" by the painter Albrecht Dürer. The second

part was the CD "Hymnen an die Nacht" by the poet Novalis.“

The 1926 film *Metropolis* is set in the year 2026, so this year is the perfect time to draw inspiration from it once again and create this original music.

Following the break-up of the Band PENSION WINNETOU - about whom music Journalist Hans Hoff wrote in 2018: “….I unpacked the record again today. Listened to it. Was amazed, puzzled, because it all sounds as if it were concelved and created only yesterday. Timeless sounds that have almost more to say today then they did back in the eighties!… What Kraftwerk were to electronic music, Pension Winnetou are to jazz. A revival, an inspiration, a constant adventure, risk included. Following their split, the guitarist and the trumpeter developed a duo programme with which they went on tour. The jazz, metal, free funk, experimental duo filled venues in Germany and the Netherlands and recorded this studio album.
